IKEA Step Stool Update

12:06 PM
I'm out for summer and getting to do all the little things I've wanted to do all year.  Sleep in, organize my house, plan projects, and anything else that I think of... painting the legs of this IKEA step stool in gold metallic paint.

I taped each leg 2 inches from the bottom; sanded each leg enough to hold the paint; and applied 4 coats.

 Almost done!

First Nursery Post

5:03 PM
We are 3 days from week 23!  This little girl is growing and couldn't be healthier.  (An answer to many prayers.)  We had a rocky start and for the past 2 months the doctors have done test after test, (a total of 6 to be exact... ahhh), thinking that she may have health problems but thankfully the journey of tests ended this past Monday with nothing but great news and good reports.

We can now turn our attention away from worries to the many "fun parts" of having a baby.  One of those fun parts being designing and decorating the nursery!  As a celebration to our good news Monday, we finally put together her crib.  The testing was absolutely no fun at all, but it brings a priceless peace of mind to know that we will be bringing home a healthy baby girl in just 4 short months.  With that being said, we have got to get crackin'!  Here's our progress with the baby's room.  Our inspiration has been this nursery from the Sadie Olive design blog.   (I'm secretly SO excited that I get to use more pink!)

More Pink in the House

8:29 PM
Back in May we found out today that we are having a...... little girl!!!  And we couldn't be more excited!  I can't wait to buy everything pink.  Joey was convinced that we were having a little boy and reminded me frequently in the waiting room that "when we find out it's a boy... yada, yada, yada!"  :)  When the nurse announced that we were having a girl, he smiled from ear to ear and kept saying, "I knew it, I knew it..."  HA!  Yeah, he knew it...  He's so excited about having a little daddy's girl!

Sincerely,

The Lishias
